NEW PARISHIONERS WARMLY WELCOMED!
PARISHIONERS MOVING, CALL RECTORY!

Please register at the Rectory during normal office hours, as soon as you move into the parish. If you move out of the parish or have a change of address within the parish, kindly notify the rectory immediately. This may be done by phone during normal office hours.

SACRAMENTS

Baptism
By previous appointment on the first Sunday of the month at
12:00 noon. Before any child receives the Sacrament, parents are to call for an appointment to attend a Pre-Baptismal Instruction Class. Call the Rectory office, 693-1211.  It is recommended that parents attend the class before the baby is born. Parents who have just registered must be active members in the church, practicing your faith and contributing in some way to the parish for at least ONE YEAR prior to their child's baptism.

Reconciliation
Saturday: 3:00-3:30 p.m. Anytime by appointment

Confirmation
The Confirmation process begins in Grade 9, but reception of the sacrament is for those in the 10th grade or older. A candidate must have been baptized in the Catholic Church or have been validly baptized in another Christian denomination and received into Full Communion in the Catholic Church. If baptized at Ascension, a certificate is not needed. The family of the candidate must be registered at the parish, or the candidate can register independently.

Matrimony
Arrangements should be made at least 4 months in advance. Engaged couples are required to have some type of Pre-Nuptial Instruction. Please call the rectory, 693-1211 to make an appointment.
You must be a registered member of the church, practicing your faith, and contributing in some way to the parish for at least ONE YEAR prior to setting a date for the marriage.

Care of the Sick
Please call the church office immediately (day or night) in case of serious illness or accident. The Rectory should be called to request
Communion, Visitation for Confession or Anointing of the Sick for anyone who is confined to home, Nursing Home or a Hospital.

Letters of Recommendation
Recommendations to act as Sponsor for the Sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation can be issued only to
registered members of Ascension Parish who attend Mass and receive the Sacraments regularly. Regular use of the Sunday envelopes (even if empty) indicates regular attendance at Mass. In addition, they must either attend or have their children attend a Catholic School or Religious Instruction Classes (grades 1-12). If the person requesting the Letter of Recommendation is married, the ceremony must have been performed in conformity with the laws of the Church. Out of town college students and members of the military should receive the Letter from their campus ministry or military base chaplain.
