The Ministry of Care was formed in July 1995 to serve the home-bound and sick of the parish by bringing them the Eucharist as well as helping them through compassionate work and prayer.
Since our formation, the Ministry of Care has assembled Eucharistic ministry teams to distribute communion to shut-ins, especially at Northgate Manor Nursing Home, Degraff Skilled Nursing Home and Degraff Adult Day Care, provide transportation to weekly Mass and doctor appointments. If anyone is in need of any of these services, please call the Rectory, 693-1211 or the Chairman.
The Ministry initiated the prayer intention book which is located to the right of the statue of St. Joseph. The book is mentioned at Mass during the General Intercessions and is presented to the presiding priest along with gifts during the preparation of the altar.
We send birthday cards to the home-bound, get well cards to the hospitalized and sympathy cards to families of deceased parishioners.
The group meets on the second Tuesday of each month September to June at 7:30 p.m. in the School Library. Interested parishioners may call Connie Schwartzkopf at 693-9094 for more information.
